Finances are one of the most difficult hurdles to building a dojo from the ground up. Even with the help of my partner and a few generous donors, I am shouldering most expenses on my own. Until I get a dedicated student body some of these costs are going to remain a personal burden.

Here is a breakdown of costs that have come up:

Rental Space: $35/ class, $445/ month

Cost of one tatami mat: $425

Meditation cushion set (zafu and zabutan): $180

One gi: $50*

One weapons set (bokken, jo and weapon's bag): $180*

Website fees: $500/ two years

*I will need to purchase a small stock of weapons and gis in anticipation of students.

Any donations will be put to good use, mostly covering the above expenses!
